So…I’m tellin’ ya<\/p><\/div>\n

You are about to travel to a place where only I, Alfie have been.\u00a0 I\u2019ll take you on my journey which chronicles those things which make us just who we are.\u00a0 Or in this case, who I am and how I got to be this way for better or worse. You may find these musings funny, odd, thought provoking, ridiculous, irreverent, paradoxical, political, cynical, optimistic, redeeming\u2026 but mostly, just plain ol\u2019 fun. \u00a0And please remember, there is a little bit of truth to all I say.\u00a0 And if what I say is not true, then damn it, it ought to be (credit Dr. Robert Winter<\/a> of Occidental College<\/a> with that line).<\/p>\n

\"Al<\/a>I will post those stories and snippetZ which have shaped my life as well as those which are a result of that shaping. Several have already been created. The first of which is a bit of spoof called\u2026you guessed it\u2026 \u201cAlfieland<\/a>…the story.\u201d \u00a0I want to make my mark that says\u2026 \u201cI was here.\u201d\u00a0 This is what geezers do when we acknowledge our mortality and come to terms with \u2026\u2019there\u2019s way more behind me than what\u2019s in front.\u2019\u00a0 While I \u00a0still have \u2018fire in the belly\u2019 for what lies ahead, reliving my past does bring an element of clarity in answering the most difficult of questions like\u2026\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Have I lived a life of meaning and purpose?\u00a0 Have I positively affected and influenced others? Have I laughed more than cried?\u00a0 Are my personal relationships in tact?\u00a0 Will I leave it better than I found it?\u00a0 If given the opportunity to come around again, how different\u00a0will the next journey be?\u00a0 When it comes to regrets, I\u2019m reminded of Sinatra\u2019s line in \u201cMy Way\u201d where he sings\u2026 \u201cregrets?… I’ve had a few, but then again, too few to mention.\u201d\u00a0 That\u2019s kinda\u2019 where I live.<\/p>\n<\/address>\n

\"Al<\/a>My initial post<\/a> sets the tone for what Alfieland is like.\u00a0 It is my world and how I tend to come at life in general.\u00a0 So, please look in from time to time and let me know what you think.\u00a0 I\u2019m a big boy and I can take it\u2026even though I\u2019m a bit more fragile than I care to admit.<\/address>\n
